Internet Domain Names
|Internet Domain Names
The names of the Internet domains, abridged to domains, are the names expressed as a combined string of letters, or letters and digits (e.g. www.czub.pl). The use of this form of annotation facilitates communication between computers linked to the web. Instead of keying in the pretty complicated and eluding memorisation IP numerical address (Internet Protocol Address) of the specific computer (e.g. 188.8.131.52) it is enough to use the specific domain name which will then be transformed to the correct IP address by the so-called domain name servers (DNS Servers).
The domain name is composed of several-level component-names, each separated with a dot right of the name of the given level.
